Mimi Schell’s ‘Le Salon Vert’ carries a long Hamburg collaboration forward

Mimi Schell’s new Le Salon Vert EP brings six songs into a musical relationship that began in Hamburg more than a decade ago. Released November 6, it was produced, engineered and mixed by Ken Stringfellow, according to his account of the sessions in Germany.
Schell is a professional singer, songwriter and multi-creative from Hamburg whose musical activity reaches back to 1998. Her official press page traces her connection with Stringfellow to a 2013 meeting. Their earlier collaboration, Heliodor, followed with a physical release in 2018 and digital release in 2019. Le Salon Vert is a new chapter, not the earlier project repackaged.
Six songs, one immediate invitation
The EP opens with “Island,” followed by the title track. “Kindness Is Strong,” “Listen to the Wind” and “Watching the Sky for Changes” continue the set. It closes with “Do It with Love (feat. BAAST!) [Choir Version].” Apple Music credits the release to Mimi Schell, ℗ 2026 Mimi Schell.
Stringfellow describes melody-rich songwriting with folk, Americana and jazz touches. That is the producer’s own characterization. The best test is direct: listen to Le Salon Vert on Apple Music.
More than a studio credit
Stringfellow says he handled production, engineering and mixing in Germany. His broad experience across The Posies, solo recordings, production and arrangement meets an artist whose practice spans songwriting, singing and other creative disciplines.
For readers meeting Schell for the first time, this six-song EP is a compact starting point. “Do It with Love” brings BAAST! into the closing credits, while the title track gives the release its name.
