Hank Azaria & The EZ Street Band Bring Their Springsteen Celebration Back to The Stone Pony
ASBURY PARK, NJ — Hank Azaria spent decades becoming famous for other people’s voices. Now one of his most unlikely vocal projects is bringing him back to one of the most important rooms in Bruce Springsteen history.

Hank Azaria & The EZ Street Band will return to The Stone Pony in Asbury Park on October 14 as part of a new run of fall and winter dates for the actor’s Springsteen celebration.
The tour also includes The Sinclair in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on October 21 and The Atlantis in Washington, D.C., on December 1, following an earlier stop at The Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, New York.
For Azaria, the project began not as another television or film role, but as an attempt to master one more voice.
The longtime actor and voice performer — best known for decades of work on The Simpsons — spent months studying Springsteen’s speaking cadence and singing voice after initially developing the idea around his 60th birthday.
What started as an experiment grew into a full live production.
More Than an Impression
Azaria has described the EZ Street Band show as a theatrical performance rather than a conventional impersonation act.
He performs Springsteen’s music while also using storytelling, stage movement and the conversational style associated with Springsteen’s concerts. The goal is not simply to imitate a voice, but to recreate some of the atmosphere, energy and connection that made the E Street Band live experience distinctive.
Azaria has said he worked harder preparing the Springsteen voice than he had for any previous role.
That level of preparation eventually moved the project beyond novelty. At the band’s early live performances, E Street Band drummer Max Weinberg even joined the group onstage, providing an unusually direct connection between the tribute and the music that inspired it.
The Band Behind the Voice
The EZ Street Band is not simply a backing group assembled around a celebrity frontman.
Its musicians collectively bring experience from touring, recording, Broadway and television work, with credits connected to artists including Ariana Grande, Post Malone, Lil Nas X, Josh Groban and Cynthia Erivo, as well as performances at venues and festivals ranging from Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Hall to Coachella and Bonnaroo.
That experience matters because Springsteen’s catalog demands more than recognizable melodies. The music depends heavily on dynamics, ensemble playing and the kind of live momentum that can turn a song into something much larger onstage.
The EZ Street Band’s job is to build that environment around Azaria while still leaving room for the humor and theatricality that make his version of the material his own.
Back to Asbury Park
The October 14 show carries an obvious geographic weight.
The Stone Pony has been tied to the Asbury Park music story for decades, and Springsteen’s own history with the venue remains part of its identity. That makes an Asbury Park performance different from simply taking a Springsteen tribute show into another club.
Azaria and the band return after a previous sold-out appearance, bringing the project back into the New Jersey environment that helped shape the music they are celebrating.
The Stone Pony currently lists doors at 7 p.m., with the show scheduled to begin at 8 p.m..
The Shows Also Fund Something Beyond the Stage
There is another piece to the project that separates it from a standard tribute-band tour.
Net proceeds from Hank Azaria & The EZ Street Band performances benefit the Four Through Nine Foundation, founded by Azaria and focused on social-justice, education, recovery and wellness causes.
Azaria has spoken publicly about directing proceeds toward organizations and programs including schools and recovery-related initiatives. In a 2025 interview, he said the project had already generated more than a quarter-million dollars in charitable proceeds during the previous year.

That gives the tour two lives at once: a deeply committed celebration of Springsteen’s music and a fundraising vehicle built around Azaria’s willingness to turn one of his most unusual vocal challenges into a live band.
Fall and Winter 2026 Dates
October 14 — The Stone Pony — Asbury Park, New Jersey
October 21 — The Sinclair — Cambridge, Massachusetts

For New Jersey listeners, though, the October 14 return to The Stone Pony is the date that stands out: a Springsteen celebration landing back in Asbury Park, in a room where the original story is still very much alive.
