GIFT Turns the Road Into the Runway for Frenzy For The Thrill

GIFT isn't waiting until January to start introducing its next album. The Brooklyn psych-rock band is taking the campaign on the road months before Frenzy For The Thrill arrives.
The band will release its new 11-track album, Frenzy For The Thrill, on January 15, 2027, through Captured Tracks. It follows GIFT's 2024 album Illuminator and is being introduced by the new single “Hand To The Flame.”
An official video for the track is out now.
GIFT's current lineup features TJ Freda on vocals and guitar, Jessica Gurewitz on synths, vocals and guitar, Kallan Campbell on bass, Justin Hrabovsky on synths and guitar, and Gabe Camarano on drums.
Freda shares production duties on the new record with electronic producer Teddy Mars.
A Heavier Direction for GIFT
According to Captured Tracks, Frenzy For The Thrill developed as a more collaborative band record, with the five members contributing more extensively to the arrangements and songwriting.
The label describes the album as drawing from '90s alternative rock, grunge and harder-edged electronic music while maintaining the psychedelic and electronic foundation that has defined GIFT's previous work.
“Hand To The Flame” provides the first public look at that direction, bringing heavier guitars and synths together over a driving rhythm.
The collaboration between Freda and Mars also brings electronic and dance-production techniques into a record designed around an increasingly involved five-piece band.
The New Record Hits the Road
Long before the January release date, GIFT will be putting the new era of the band in front of audiences across the UK and North America.
The band's upcoming itinerary includes a September 23 appearance at YES in Manchester, followed later in the year by dates in several major North American music markets.
GIFT reaches Empty Bottle in Chicago on October 31 and Théâtre Fairmount in Montréal on November 28.
The band then arrives in Philadelphia at Underground Arts on December 3, followed by HI-FI in Indianapolis on December 9.
GIFT returns to Chicago for a December 12 appearance at Thalia Hall, placing the band just over a month away from the release of Frenzy For The Thrill.
From Brooklyn to an International Audience
The tour gives audiences an opportunity to hear where GIFT is heading before the finished album arrives.
It also puts the band into very different rooms and music communities during the final months of the album campaign — from Manchester and Montréal to Philadelphia, Indianapolis and two separate Chicago appearances.
For a record described as more collaborative and more closely connected to the band's live identity, those shows should provide the first indication of how the new material translates from the studio to the stage.
January 15
By the time Frenzy For The Thrill arrives, GIFT will have spent months building toward it.
“Hand To The Flame” is already out, the album has been announced, and the band is carrying the campaign through an international run of live dates before release day.
