Oathgate introduce debut single 'Ashes'

London-based dark metal band Oathgate introduce "Ashes" as their debut single in publicity supplied by Asteria Entertainment.

The supplied press release says the band was founded in 2025 by Thorsten Giersch, who was later joined by Dee Christopher and Rebekah Knight. The publicity describes a sound combining brooding atmospheres, theatrical vocals, growls and screams.

In a collective statement included in the publicity, Oathgate describe "Ashes" as a song about oppression, authoritarian control and the loss of individual freedom. They say its themes move from despair toward defiance and collective strength, while acknowledging the lasting effects of oppression.

The supplied material also identifies a radio edit that omits the theatrical introduction.
